You’re probably doing this wrong (a better way to happiness inside)

I make this mistake all the time and I guarantee you do too… what is it?

We move through our days believing that “As soon as _______________ happens, I will be relaxed and happy.”

As soon as:

– I get everything on my list done

– my kids stop arguing

– I earn more money

– I have more time

– My 3-year old gets older (and less cray-cray)

And so on.

At Family Mindfulness retreat two weeks ago, they reminded us that there’s another way:

We should decide to and practice to be happy.

This is what my teacher says:

“There is no way to happiness – happiness is the way.”

Buddhist Teachers aren’t the only ones who espouse this fake it ’til you make it wisdom.

This is what CEO and AngelList founder Naval Ravikant says:

“The most important trick to be happy is to realize that happiness is a choice that you make and a skill that you develop. You choose to be happy, and then you work at it. It’s just like building muscles.”

How do we do this?

First, know that you can. Decide to try it out today — with me. 🙂

Then, let’s simply practice to remember that we can decide to be happy as much as possible (sticky notes!).

I’m not saying that you might not have loss, difficulty, frustration, and suffering in your day.

It might be hard day and you can also have happiness too.

Let’s try it out.

Let’s practice happiness in our everyday life.
